We’re seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to work onsite, offering essential 1:1 support to students who require sign language interpretation. This full-time role provides you with an opportunity to positively impact learning experiences every day, while developing your expertise within a welcoming school environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Proficient in American Sign Language with a strong passion for supporting students’ educational access
- Achieved at least a 4.0 EIPA score
- Meets at least one of the following educational requirements:
• Completion of CHSPE or NCLB
• Minimum 48 units of higher education study
• AA degree or certificate via the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID)
• Certificate in TEC unit level 4 ACCI - Reliable and collaborative, able to work effectively as part of a student support team
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and fostering a supportive learning environment
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized sign language interpretation for students in a 1:1 setting
- Accurately and impartially interpret classroom discussions, instructions, and school-related activities
- Facilitate clear communication between students, educators, and peers
- Adapt interpretation methods to best meet each student’s unique needs
- Uphold professionalism in all interactions and documentation
