What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Current licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter
- American Sign Language Proficiency Interview (ASLPI) score of 4.1 or higher
- Demonstrated experience providing 1:1 sign language interpreting, preferably with pediatric clients
- Familiarity with educational settings and an understanding of students’ unique learning needs
- Genuine passion for supporting children and collaborating with school staff
- Adaptable communication skills and the ability to foster trust with students, families, and educators
- Willingness to work on-site in a school setting
Main Responsibilities:
- Deliver clear and consistent ASL interpretation for a designated student throughout the school day
- Bridge classroom instruction, peer interactions, and school events to ensure full student participation
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to facilitate seamless learning
- Assist in maintaining an inclusive, supportive, and safe educational environment
- Provide input on student progress and help adapt communication methods as needed
