Qualifications:
- Proven experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational environments.
- ASLPI score of 4.1 or above (required).
- Hold relevant interpreting certification and comply with state requirements for school-based interpreting.
- Strong ability to nurture effective communication between students, staff, and families.
- Commitment to ethical interpreting standards and student confidentiality.
- Adaptability and teamwork skills to collaborate with educators and support staff.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality one-on-one interpreting services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Facilitate clear communication between students and classroom teachers, peers, and support staff.
- Assist in both classroom instruction and extracurricular activities as needed.
- Adapt interpreting techniques to suit individual student learning styles and educational goals.
