Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in school-based or similar educational settings
- ASLPI (American Sign Language Proficiency Interview) score of 4.1 or higher required
- Ability to work effectively as a 1:1 interpreter, facilitating clear communication between the student and educational staff
- Clear understanding of interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and professional boundaries in diverse classroom scenarios
- Strong teamwork, flexibility, and communication skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver accurate and seamless ASL interpretation during classroom instruction, school activities, and one-on-one interactions
- Support student participation, comprehension, and integration within all aspects of the school day
- Collaborate with educators, specialists, and families to help achieve the student’s academic and developmental goals
- Maintain up-to-date records and adapt communication methods to meet varying needs and settings
