- Valid Arizona Special Education certificate
- Clear (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC)
- Experience or strong knowledge of American Sign Language in educational settings
- Commitment to upholding confidentiality and professional conduct
- Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide interpretation services between students, educators, and peers throughout the school day
- Accurately translate classroom instruction, discussions, and school events to ensure student comprehension
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and administrative teams to tailor services to each student's needs
- Monitor student progress and adjust interpreting techniques as appropriate
- Support a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere and promote self-advocacy for students using sign language
- Maintain documentation of sessions in accordance with school and district policies
This position is full time, averaging seven hours per day, and runs for the entire 26/27 academic year—giving you the chance to truly connect with students and staff.
