Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid ASL Interpreter certification or credentials authorized for use in Minnesota schools
- Background in interpreting and transliterating for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students, staff, and families
- Previous experience within school or youth-centered environments is highly desirable
- Ability to serve on student educational teams as a related service provider
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills
- Dedicated to supporting inclusivity and equity in student learning
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver interpreting and transliterating services throughout the school day for students, staff, and families
- Work across multiple educational settings—including classrooms, school events, and meetings—to enable communication between Deaf/Hard of Hearing individuals and others
- Partner as a member of the student’s educational team to support Individualized Education Program (IEP) development and progress
- Foster student access to instruction, activities, and social opportunities
- Provide accurate and confidential interpretation, ensuring effective two-way communication at all times
- Contribute to a positive, accessible educational atmosphere for all students
