Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Proven proficiency as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings
- Valid EIPA score of 3.5 or higher
- Comfortable supporting students in wheelchairs and adaptive classroom environments
- Ability to provide comprehensive communication services in an onsite setting
- Professional certification as a Sign Language Interpreter
- Experience collaborating with Special Education Teachers a plus
- Strong teamwork and organizational skills
- Compassionate and adaptable approach to meeting individual student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver sign language interpretation for a high school student in a specialized classroom
- Facilitate effective communication between the student, teachers, and classmates
- Collaborate with the Special Education team to support individual education goals
- Assist with adaptive materials or modifications as needed
- Ensure confidentiality and adhere to all school guidelines
- Promote student engagement and access to learning opportunities
- Attend meetings and training sessions as required
