Two contract positions are open for skilled Sign Language Interpreters, both offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in educational environments while working alongside dedicated professionals.
Position Details:
- First opportunity is located at a center in Vernon Hills, with a full-time schedule from Monday to Friday, 9am-3pm. This role starts as soon as possible and extends through May 28, 2027.
- The second opening is at a high school in Grayslake, running Monday to Friday, 8am-12pm, beginning as soon as possible through May 20, 2027.
- Both assignments are exclusively onsite.
Desired Qualifications:
- EIPA score of 3.5 or higher with Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Approval, or EIPA 3.0-3.4 with ISBE Interim Approval.
- Alternatively, BEI, ISAS, CI/CT, or NIC credentials with ISBE Approval are accepted.
- Experience interpreting in school settings or with children and adolescents preferred.
- Strong communication skills in both American Sign Language and English.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide clear and accurate interpretation for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in classroom and school activities.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to support student participation and success.
- Support comprehension and engagement by facilitating communication between students and educational personnel.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
