Qualifications:
- Valid Sign Language Interpreter credentials and certifications
- Minimum 4.0 EIPA or RID score required
- Experience working in a school setting, preferably with middle school-aged children
- Strong interpersonal, listening, and communication skills
- Ability to interpret in a variety of classroom and campus environments
Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken language to American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa for middle school students, educators, and staff
- Facilitate effective communication during classroom instruction, school activities, and meetings
- Collaborate closely with teachers and support staff to ensure a fully inclusive educational experience
- Maintain accurate and confidential records as needed
- Uphold standards of professional conduct and adhere to ethical guidelines
- Adapt interpreting techniques to meet diverse learning needs and settings
This contract role spans five days a week, 37.5 hours per week, focusing on continuous engagement and student support.
