Sign Language Interpreter in Washoe Valley, NV
Embark on an exciting assignment supporting students as a Sign Language Interpreter in a vibrant Nevada school community. Your workday will primarily focus on elementary settings, with some itinerant responsibilities that may extend to nearby middle and high school campuses as needed. You'll play a pivotal role in the educational journey of 1-2 students, facilitating communication and fostering a supportive, inclusive environment.
Key Qualifications:
- National Certification in Sign Language Interpretation
- EIP score of 3.5 or above
- Ability to obtain required fingerprinting and clear a drug screening
- Experience in educational settings strongly preferred
- Flexible, collaborative mindset and effective communication skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver sign language interpretation services for assigned students in mainstream classrooms
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure students have access to instruction and activities
- Adapt interpreting approaches to different age groups and learning situations
- Support various assignments as needed—primarily at the elementary level, with occasional middle or high school coverage
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines and district policies
