This full-time, contract role offers up to five openings for passionate professionals ready to collaborate closely with teams that include Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) specialists and extended classroom support staff. While in-person availability is prioritized, hybrid and virtual accommodation options are being considered for the right candidates.
Assignment start and end dates will align with the academic calendar (anticipated to run August 24, 2026, through July 15, 2027). Caseload details are forthcoming and will be determined based on placement within the district.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter
- Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) in educational environments
- Collaborative skills to work effectively with DHH professionals and classroom teams
- Previous experience in school-based or similar settings preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to adapt to both in-person and virtual work environments if needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide interpreting services to facilitate communication between DHH students, peers, and staff members
- Support students’ access to curricular and extracurricular activities
- Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive support
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards
- Participate in ongoing training or meetings as required
