What you'll bring:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in schools or educational settings
- An EIPA score of 4.0 is preferred; candidates with lower scores may be considered for a temporary certification
- Experience teaching or facilitating ASL is highly valued
- Compassion, patience, and dedication to supporting children with unique language needs
What you'll do:
- Serve as a dedicated ASL interpreter for a first-grade student, facilitating communication in both academic and social settings
- Work closely with teachers and school staff, helping to ensure full access to the classroom and curriculum
- Provide language modeling and support for a student who has experienced severe language deprivation
- Collaborate on individualized education plans and participate in meetings as needed
- Foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment for the student
