Embark on a rewarding assignment supporting a middle school student as a skilled Sign Language Interpreter at a vibrant educational setting in the Greenville, SC area. This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a 1:1 basis with a transfer student entering middle school, primarily in general education classes with the exception of a daily period dedicated to IEP services with a DHH Teacher.
Key Qualifications:
- EIPA rating of 3.5 or higher (required by the state of South Carolina)
- Successful completion of the written EIPA exam
- Minimum of a high school diploma
- Ability to pass a background check and adhere to the SLI Code of Ethics
- Previous experience interpreting in educational settings is highly valued
- Professional, ethical approach to confidentiality, student engagement, and collaboration
Position Details:
- Immediate start date with assignment running through May 27, 2027
- Full-time schedule: 37.5 hours per week
- School hours are approximately 8:00 AM – 3:45 PM or 8:15 AM – 3:30 PM, depending on assignment
- Caseload is strictly 1:1, ensuring dedicated support for the student throughout their school day (excluding a 70-minute IEP-related session)
- Placement at one of two middle schools in Greenville; the exact site will be confirmed
