Responsibilities include:
- Delivering sign language interpretation services tailored to the needs of a middle school student
- Facilitating communication between the student, educators, and support staff during telehealth and in-person sessions
- Collaborating with educational professionals to enhance learning experiences through accurate and culturally appropriate interpretation
- Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
- Adapting interpretation methods to accommodate evolving student needs and educational settings
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with certification as a Sign Language Interpreter
- Experience working with middle school-age students in educational or telehealth environments
- Strong understanding of educational terminology and protocols related to middle school curricula
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on a contract basis
- Excellent communication skills and cultural sensitivity
