Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current professional license/certification as a Sign Language Interpreter
- ASLPI score of 4.1 or higher required
- Experience working 1:1 with pediatric populations, preferably within a school environment
- Proficient in American Sign Language, with an understanding of educational settings
- Strong interpersonal skills, reliability, and a collaborative mindset
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Providing dedicated, 1:1 sign language interpretation for a student within the school setting
- Supporting real-time communication between the student, instructors, peers, and staff
- Assisting with both classroom and extracurricular activities to promote full participation
- Collaborating with educational staff to ensure accommodations are in place and effective
- Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to school policies and interpreter ethics
