1:1 Pediatric Educational Sign Language Interpreter - West Des Moines, IA

Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Hold current licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter.
- Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language, with an ASLPI score of 4.1 or higher.
- Previous experience working in pediatric or school-based settings is highly valued.
- Skilled in providing individualized (1:1) support to students.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators and support staff.
- Strong communication skills and commitment to confidentiality.
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver one-on-one sign language interpreting services for a pediatric student within the school.
- Support the student’s comprehension and participation in all classroom activities.
- Partner with teaching staff to adapt classroom materials and strategies, promoting full access to the curriculum.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation as required by school guidelines.
- Foster an inclusive environment where the student can thrive socially and academically.
