Qualifications:
- ASLPI (American Sign Language Proficiency Interview) score of 4.1 or higher required
- Proven experience providing 1:1 interpreting services in educational settings preferred
- Ability to effectively facilitate communication between students, teachers, and staff using American Sign Language
- Comfortable working collaboratively with educators, parents, and other support personnel
- Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and student success
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver in-person, 1:1 interpreting services for a student within the school environment
- Support classroom learning, extracurricular activities, and school events by accurately interpreting spoken and signed communication
- Adapt to varied classroom settings and grade levels as needed
- Assist in fostering an inclusive, supportive, and accessible educational experience for the student
- Collaborate regularly with instructional staff to share insights and advocacy strategies for optimal student support
