Key Qualifications:
- Valid licensure to practice as a Sign Language Interpreter
- Demonstrated experience providing 1:1 interpreting services, preferably in pediatric or school environments
- Minimum ASLPI score of 4.1 or higher required
- Strong understanding of confidentiality, professionalism, and educational protocols
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating within a multidisciplinary team
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver personalized sign language interpreting services to a pediatric student, enabling full participation in classroom and extracurricular activities
- Accurately convey spoken content into American Sign Language and vice versa, maintaining fidelity to tone and intent
- Support teachers and school staff by clarifying communication needs and fostering an inclusive learning environment
- Assist in the development and implementation of accommodations for the student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP)
- Participate in meetings, consultations, and training sessions as required
- Uphold ethical standards and confidentiality requirements at all times
