Sign Language Interpreter in Alma, AR
Make a direct impact by supporting a middle school student as a Sign Language Interpreter in a full-time, onsite contract opportunity. This position begins as soon as possible and will continue until late May. As the sole interpreter, your expertise will play a pivotal role in ensuring clear, effective communication within the classroom and across various educational environments.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid state licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Experience interpreting in school settings preferred
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish and ASL is highly valued; knowledge of MSL is a plus
- Ability to work onsite and commit to a full school day
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one interpretation for a middle school student throughout the school day
- Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, and peers in classrooms and academic activities
- Adapt messages and educational content to fit the student’s communication needs
- Collaborate with educators and staff to ensure the student’s successful participation in learning
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical standards at all times
