Step into a meaningful contract assignment providing vital support as a Sign Language Interpreter in a dynamic school setting near Alma, AR. This full-time opportunity focuses on working one-on-one with a middle school student, interpreting both in the classroom and across various educational environments to facilitate equal access to learning.
This assignment runs from ASAP through late May, with the expectation of being onsite for 37.5 hours each week throughout the school day. The most successful candidate will be able to adapt quickly, build rapport with students and staff, and demonstrate exceptional interpreting skills. Bilingual abilities—particularly Spanish and American Sign Language (ASL)—are highly valued, and Mississippi Sign Language (MSL) proficiency is an additional plus.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current state interpreter licensure with expertise in ASL.
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English strongly preferred; MSL familiarity advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience interpreting in K-12 school environments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities with students and educational staff.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and supporting student success.
- Flexible, proactive approach to working across multiple classroom settings.
