Sign Language Interpreter in Ashland, OR

As a contract team member, you'll play a key role in fostering inclusive education by facilitating understanding between deaf or hard-of-hearing students, their peers, and school staff. This opportunity runs from August 24, 2026, through June 11, 2027.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid OR Sign Language Interpreter Certification or Licensure is required
- Experience working with children or youth in educational settings preferred
- Proficient in ASL and familiar with interpreting best practices
- Strong ethical guidelines and confidentiality standards
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Flexibility and adaptability to various classroom environments and student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate, high-quality ASL interpreting for students, staff, and families during classes, school events, and meetings
- Prepare for varied educational content across multiple grade levels and subjects
- Support students’ engagement and classroom participation through effective communication
- Adhere to all state, federal, and district guidelines for educational interpreting
- Maintain clear records of services delivered and communicate progress and needs with the educational team
