Key Qualifications:
- EIPA score of 3.5 or above (required)
- Proven experience interpreting in educational or school-based settings
- Ability to commit to a full-time, on-site schedule throughout the academic year
- Additional state licensure and credentials, as required (to be confirmed)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with students and staff
Principal Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language and vice versa for classroom instruction, school events, meetings, and activities
- Support students’ engagement and participation in all aspects of the academic day
- Foster communication between students, teachers, and peers to enhance inclusion
- Maintain confidentiality and follow all school district protocols
- Adapt interpreting approach as needed for varied age groups and settings within the school
