Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English communication
- Experience interpreting in a K-12 educational setting preferred

- National Interpreter Certification (NIC) or equivalent, or eligibility for certification
- Knowledge of educational terminology, classroom routines, and relevant ethical standards
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken communication and classroom instruction into sign language, and voice student responses into spoken English as needed
- Work closely with educational staff to support student learning, participation, and engagement
- Prepare for classes by familiarizing yourself with lesson content and school routines
- Support students during extracurricular activities or school events as required
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional and ethical standards
- Provide feedback and guidance to staff on best practices for communication and inclusion
