In this position, you’ll introduce and reinforce foundational ASL vocabulary as students take their first steps in sign language. With a focus on basic communication rather than complex interpreting, you’ll foster inclusion, understanding, and early language development in a supportive environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience supporting students in an educational setting as a Sign Language Interpreter
- Comfortable with elementary-level ASL—complex signing is not required
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers to adjust communication strategies as students learn
- Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and a nurturing approach
- Relevant certification or licensure as required by state guidelines
Responsibilities:
- Provide real-time SLI support to Kindergarten students learning ASL
