What you’ll bring:
- Valid licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter in Minnesota
- Minimum 4.0 EIPA score (required)
- Experience providing one-on-one support to students in an educational environment preferred
- Conversational and academic fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
What you’ll do:
- Provide real-time sign language interpretation between a third-grade student and their educational team during all instructional and school-related activities
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment by clarifying lesson content and facilitating communication
- Adapt interpretation style to meet the specific comprehension needs of the student
- Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and therapists to monitor student progress
- Comply with district policies regarding confidentiality, student safety, and professional conduct
- Complete documentation as required by the school or district
- Participate in meetings, training, and planning sessions relevant to the student’s needs
