Key Qualifications:
- Valid EIPA score of 4.0 required
- Prior experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in elementary or K-12 settings strongly preferred
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Ability to facilitate effective communication between student, teachers, and peers
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Strong understanding of educational environments and confidentiality
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 sign language interpretation for a third-grade student during the school day
- Interpret classroom instruction, peer interactions, and school activities to support student’s educational engagement
- Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to ensure academic and social inclusion
- Prepare for daily lessons and adapt interpretation style as needed for student comprehension
- Maintain professionalism, accuracy, and confidentiality in all interactions
- Monitor and report on student progress and participation
Position Details:
- Contract assignment from August 24, 2026, through June 3, 2027
- 33.75 hours per week (8:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch break)
- One-on-one focus, fostering a supportive and individualized learning experience
