Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter
- Minimum ASLPI (American Sign Language Proficiency Interview) score of 4.1 or higher
- Experience supporting pediatric clients in educational or similar settings
- Ability to work effectively 1:1, providing clear and accurate interpretation
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, educators, and families
- Reliable, compassionate, and adaptable in classroom environments
Responsibilities:
- Deliver precise, real-time interpretation between American Sign Language and spoken English to facilitate educational participation for a pediatric student
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to support individualized education goals and ensure consistent communication
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times, upholding ethical standards in interpreting
- Assist with classroom activities, school events, and student engagement as needed
- Document services provided and participate in team meetings or IEP reviews
