Qualifications and Required Experience:
- Active and valid State of Minnesota Teaching License in American Sign Language for grades K-12
- Demonstrated proficiency in sign language interpretation in educational settings
- Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter within a school environment is preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
- Commitment to upholding ethical standards and confidentiality
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and timely sign language interpretation for students, teachers, and school personnel during classroom instruction, meetings, and other school activities
- Support students’ educational access and participation by interpreting a variety of instructional materials and classroom interactions
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and support staff to ensure a cohesive learning experience
- Adapt interpreting strategies to accommodate individual student needs and learning styles
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow school and district protocols for service delivery
