Two onsite interpreters are needed for the 2026-2027 school year, beginning in early August and continuing through late May, with potential opportunities for planning days before or after the typical contract.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Georgia Educator Certificate for Sign Language Interpreters (SLI) with an EIPA score of 3.5 or higher
- SLI Paraprofessionals close to the EIPA benchmark who are committed to re-testing may also be considered, with potential pathway to full SLI status during the year
- Strong proficiency in American Sign Language, with experience in educational environments highly valued
- Willingness and ability to document services daily through logs
- Flexibility to discuss grade level and student assignments based on your expertise and preferences during interview
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver one-on-one and group interpreting for students who are deaf or hard-of-hearing across a variety of age groups, tailored after interview discussion
- Work alongside teachers and school staff to facilitate accessible classroom communication
- Maintain meticulous daily logs to track services provided in accordance with district requirements
- Participate in meetings, planning sessions, and professional development as required
