Desired Qualifications:
- Current Georgia Educator Certification for Sign Language Interpreters, with an EIPA score of 3.5 or higher
- Alternatively, SLI Paras with close EIPA scores and a commitment to re-take the exam may be considered—this district supports growth and offers advancement to full interpreter roles during the school year
- An understanding of the unique needs within K-12 educational environments
- Strong collaboration, communication, and documentation skills
- Willingness to complete daily service logs for accountability and student progress tracking
- Openness to interviewing with the school district to determine best age group and caseload match based on your experience and preferences
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality sign language interpreting services in various classroom and school settings
- Adapt interpretation style to meet each student’s academic and social needs
- Work closely with a team of educators to support individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Maintain accurate, daily logs of services provided
- Foster student engagement and advocacy through supportive, accessible communication
