Sign Language Interpreter Responsibilities
Provide interpreting services for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers
Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, activities, and school-related events
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Collaborate with teachers and other members of the educational team
Support students' communication access and participation in the classroom
Follow school policies and professional standards for educational interpreting
Requirements
EIPA score of 3.5 or higher – REQUIRED
GA Educator Certification
Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in an educational setting preferred
Strong ASL and English communication skills
Ability to effectively interpret in a classroom environment
