Sign Language Interpreter in Danbury, CT
Step into a meaningful, hands-on contract opportunity as an ASL Language Facilitator or Sign Language Interpreter for the upcoming school year, working closely with students in a diverse, urban educational setting near Danbury, CT. Key Qualifications:
- Fluency in American Sign Language is essential.
- Preferably holds RID certification or an EIPA score; willingness to consider all fluent candidates.
- Prior experience in school environments is highly valued.
- Comfort working one-on-one, adapting instructional support to elementary-age or potentially older students, as discussed in the initial virtual interview with leadership.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with sensitivity to working within a diverse student population.
Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated, individualized ASL interpretation and facilitation for assigned students.
- Support comprehension of curriculum material by supplementing classroom instruction and tutoring as needed.
- Foster growth in ASL vocabulary and overall language skills.
- Coordinate with educators and therapeutic staff to optimize learning outcomes.
- Maintain professional documentation and uphold confidentiality standards.
If certified via RID or EIPA, you will receive compensation in the $38–$45 per hour range; fluent, non-certified interpreters are welcomed and compensated at $30–$37 per hour.
