Make a meaningful difference in a student’s educational journey while utilizing your expertise as a Sign Language Interpreter for a dynamic 1:1 assignment. In this engaging contract role, you'll support a 5th-grade student within a Life Skills classroom setting for the upcoming school year.
This opportunity offers a full-time weekday schedule, running from August 19, 2026 through June 2, 2027, with working hours from 7:20am to 2:10pm, totaling 35 hours each week.
What We’re Looking For:
- Valid EIPA score of 3.5 or higher (required by the intermediate unit)
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting within educational settings
- Previous experience as a school-based Sign Language Interpreter preferred
- Commitment to fostering inclusion and communication access for students with diverse needs
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver clear, accurate sign language interpretation between the student, educators, and peers in both classroom and school environments
- Facilitate meaningful participation and engagement for the student in all aspects of school life
- Collaborate with Life Skills classroom staff and related service providers
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines and professionalism at all times
- Adapt to varying instructional activities and support the student’s learning and social development
