Educational Sign Language Interpreter – Lynnwood, WA Area
ProCare Therapy is seeking a qualified Educational Sign Language Interpreter to support Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in the Lynnwood, Washington area.
This opportunity offers significant scheduling flexibility and can be structured as either part-time or full-time depending on your availability. We are looking for an interpreter who is highly fluent in American Sign Language and has the experience and qualifications necessary to provide effective communication access in a school setting.
Position Details
- $45.00+ per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
- W-2 employment
- Part-time or full-time options available
- Flexible weekly schedule
- Monday through Friday school-based hours
- In-person assignment in the Lynnwood, WA area
- Weekly paychecks
- School-year position
Required Qualifications
- EIPA score of 4.0 or higher
- High level of fluency in American Sign Language
- Strong expressive and receptive interpreting skills
- Ability to accurately interpret classroom instruction, conversations, and student communication
- Comfortable working collaboratively with teachers, DHH staff, families, and other school professionals
- School-based or educational interpreting experience preferred
What You’ll Be Doing
- Provide ASL interpretation for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students throughout the school day
- Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, activities, and interactions with peers and staff
- Help ensure students have consistent access to academic and social communication
- Work closely with teachers and DHH professionals to support student participation
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality
- Adapt interpreting support based on the student’s age, communication needs, and classroom environment
Flexible Scheduling
We understand that experienced educational interpreters may already have other professional commitments. The client is open to both part-time and full-time availability, and schedules can be discussed based on the days and hours you are consistently available.
