Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students as an Onsite Sign Language Interpreter in a dynamic school environment. With a contract spanning through May 2027 and the possibility of pre- and post-planning days, you’ll work collaboratively with educators to ensure accessibility and inclusion for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. This position offers flexibility with full-time schedules of at least 37.5 hours per week, and consideration for part-time hours based on the district’s needs.
Desired Qualifications
- Hold an active Georgia Educator Certification for Sign Language Interpreters, including an EIPA score of 3.5 or higher
- Alternately, a SLI Para with a close EIPA score who is committed to re-taking the exam (potential transition to full SLI during the school year)
- Comfortable completed required daily service logs and documentation
- Ability to collaborate with school teams to support individualized student learning
- Strong communication skills and a passion for advocating for students
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide sign language interpretation for students and school personnel in classroom settings and school activities
- Adapt to varying caseloads and age groups, with placement based on your experience and preferences discussed during the interview
- Maintain accurate daily logs documenting services provided
- Assist in promoting accessible learning environments and fostering student independence
- Participate in planning meetings and professional development as needed
