Make a difference as a dedicated Sign Language Interpreter supporting a 1:1 pediatric assignment in a school-based setting. This full-time, on-site contract opportunity is a rewarding role for interpreters with a passion for empowering students through communication access. Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 sign language interpretation services for a pediatric student in classrooms and throughout the school day
- Accurately convey a range of educational content, discussions, and social interactions between student and staff
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and the student's educational team to support learning goals
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to code of ethics
- Adapt interpreting strategies to suit the individual needs and learning style of the assigned student
- Document services according to school and agency guidelines
Qualifications:
- Valid license or certification as a Sign Language Interpreter
- ASLPI score of 4.1 or higher required
- Experience providing sign language interpretation in pediatric and/or school settings
- Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Ability to work full-time, on-site
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
