Key Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter
- Demonstrated skill in American Sign Language with an ASLPI score of 4.1 or higher
- Experience working 1:1 with pediatric clients, preferably in a school environment
- Ability to communicate effectively, adapt communication styles, and build strong student rapport
- Commitment to supporting students’ access to curriculum, activities, and peer interaction
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver real-time interpretation between spoken English and American Sign Language for a specific student throughout the school day
- Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and special education teams to align interpretation with student IEP goals
- Assist with communication during classroom activities, transitions, and school events
- Maintain professionalism and student confidentiality at all times
- Document interpreting services as required by school policies
