Sign Language Interpreter in Fortson, GA

Two onsite interpreters are needed in a supportive environment working closely with students and staff. This contract opportunity runs from August 3rd, 2026 through May 21st, 2027, with a potential for additional planning days before or after the school year. Both full-time (minimum 37.5 hours per week) and potential part-time availability can be considered, offering flexibility to suit your schedule.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Georgia Educator Certification for Sign Language Interpreters with an EIPA score of 3.5 or above
- Alternatively, applicants may be an SLI Para with near-qualifying EIPA scores who are committed to retaking the exam; these candidates may start as an SLI tech with opportunity to advance to full interpreter
- Experience collaborating with educational teams and a willingness to engage in ongoing communication with staff to tailor assignments to your strengths and preferences
- Comfortable with daily service log documentation as required by the district
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide clear and precise sign language interpretation for students in classroom and school activities
- Work with school staff and administration to ensure accommodations and accessibility for all deaf and hard-of-hearing students
- Maintain accurate daily logs of interpreting services rendered
- Engage in meetings to determine age group preference and placement that aligns with your experience and skills
