Assignment Details:
- 1:1 support for a 5th-grade student within a Life Skills room
- Full-time equivalent, 35 hours weekly
- Scheduled from August 19, 2026, through June 2, 2027
- Daily hours: 7:20 am – 2:10 pm, offering a consistent weekday routine
- Contract role for the duration of the school year
Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Must possess an Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or higher
- Demonstrated ability to foster communication between students, staff, and peers
- Patient, flexible, and committed to student-centered support
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret all classroom activities, lessons, and interactions for the assigned student
- Facilitate communication between the student, peers, educators, and support staff
- Provide clear, accurate interpretation in a manner appropriate for the student’s age and skill level
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and special education staff to ensure consistent support
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
