Preferred Background:
- Demonstrated proficiency as a Sign Language Interpreter, with experience supporting students in educational settings
- Full-time availability for the contract period
- Valid EIPA score of 3.5 or higher, or current RID certification, is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of Deaf culture and best practices for accessibility
- Reliable work ethic, with the ability to adapt to dynamic school environments
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and nonverbal
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate real-time interpretation (ASL-English and English-ASL) for a high school student within classroom and school activities
- Work closely with educators and staff to ensure equal access to curriculum and participation
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Adjust interpreting techniques as required to align with the student’s needs and educational setting
- Support the student's social and academic inclusion throughout the school day
