Qualifications:
- Valid Sign Language Interpreter license
- EIPA score of 3.5 or higher required
- RID certification holders are also eligible, even without EIPA
- Ability to effectively facilitate communication in an educational setting
- Strong ethical standards and professionalism
- Collaborative mindset and readiness to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school activities for students requiring sign language services
- Adapt interpreting techniques to fit students’ unique language and learning styles
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the school setting’s professional standards
- Communicate regularly with educators, staff, and families as needed
- Provide support for broader school or academic events as requested
