Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and skilled in interpreting for Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing students.
- Previous experience in a K–12 school environment strongly preferred.
- Certification by a recognized interpreting body (e.g., RID or EIPA).
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt interpretation styles to a variety of classroom settings and individual student needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver accurate and effective sign language interpretation during classroom instruction, school events, and extracurricular activities.
- Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to promote accessible learning.
- Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and advocacy for students at all times.
- Participate in team meetings, IEPs, and ongoing training as required.
