Qualifications:
- Possess a valid State of Minnesota Teaching License in American Sign Language, K-12
- Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in schools is preferred
- Proficiency in American Sign Language, with strong expressive and receptive skills
- Ability to interpret accurately and impartially for students and staff
- Professionalism, reliability, and a collaborative spirit within educational teams
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate clear and effective communication between students, staff, and peers using ASL
- Support students’ participation in academic and extracurricular activities
- Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school events in various settings
- Collaborate closely with special educators, teachers, and school staff to ensure optimal learning access
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical interpreter standards
- Adapt to students’ individual communication needs and educational goals
