Key Qualifications:
- Fluency in American Sign Language and experience supporting students in school settings
- Minimum EIPA score of 4.0
- Possession of current, valid certification and licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter
- Previous experience in 1:1 or classroom-based interpreting, preferably with elementary school students
- Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive atmosphere
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct 1:1 interpreting services for a third-grade student in an onsite school setting
- Facilitate effective communication between the student, staff, and peers throughout the school day
- Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and school personnel to ensure seamless access to instructional content
- Adapt interpreting approach as needed to meet the student’s unique needs and learning style
- Assist with progress monitoring, documentation, and ongoing communication with the educational team
- Maintain professionalism and dependability with consistent attendance and timely service delivery
