As a contract Sign Language Interpreter, you will work onsite—no virtual assignments—serving a single campus with either elementary, middle, or high school students, depending on your placement. Immediate start dates are available, extending through late May, and you’ll enjoy a steady, full-time schedule of up to 37.5 hours each week.
Key Qualifications:
- 3.0 EIPA score (or higher) required
- Prior experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings preferred
- Ability to engage with students in both 1:1 and group settings
- Completion of fingerprinting required for credentialing (status verified if previously fingerprinted in FL and available through the AHCA Clearinghouse)
- Commitment to onsite work; remote or VOCO roles are not offered
Primary Responsibilities:
- Interpret instructional activities, student and staff interactions, and school events for DHH students across assigned age groups
- Foster clear, accessible communication between students, educators, and peers in mainstream classroom settings
- Collaborate closely with teachers and support staff to tailor communication strategies to individual student needs
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
- Support student integration and participation in both academic and extracurricular activities
