You’ll collaborate closely with classroom teachers, staff, and other interpreters to provide real-time interpreting support and ensure students’ needs are met from 8:00am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required
- Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter or Paraprofessional in a school setting is highly valued
- Comfortable supporting middle school students in various classroom activities
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to adapt to diverse learning needs and styles
Responsibilities:
- Deliver clear and accurate ASL interpretation for students throughout the school day
- Assist in classroom instruction, activities, and small group work as needed
- Support positive interactions between deaf/hard-of-hearing students, peers, and staff
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Collaborate with teachers to adapt materials and provide accessible learning resources
- Monitor student progress and communicate relevant observations to the educational team
