Per Diem Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Olathe, Kansas

This per diem position allows you to work Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 3:00pm, totaling 7.5 hours each day. Desired Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required
- Experience as a sign language interpreter and/or paraprofessional in an educational environment
- Familiarity with supporting students with diverse communication needs
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with educators, students, and families
- Dependability and professionalism in a school-based setting
Primary Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction and school discussions to facilitate clear communication for students using ASL
- Support students' participation in group activities, classwork, and school events
- Collaborate with teachers to meet the unique needs of each student
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct in all interactions
- Adapt interpretation methods and classroom assistance based on students’ individual education plans (IEPs) and learning objectives
