Qualifications & Desired Skills:
- Valid credentials as a Sign Language Interpreter
- EIPA score of 3.0 or higher required
- Previous experience with K-12 student populations preferred
- Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English
- Ability to interpret in academic, social, and extracurricular settings
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Compassion, adaptability, and a collaborative spirit
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized sign language interpretation services for a specific student within general and special education settings
- Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, and peers in classroom instruction, activities, and school functions
- Follow educational plans and IEPs as outlined by school staff and related professionals
- Support student comprehension, engagement, and participation in all assigned environments
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student progress and success
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all interpreted interactions
- Participate in team meetings and professional development as needed
This role offers the chance to make a lasting impact in students’ daily lives while collaborating with supportive educators. The contract runs through May 28, 2027, with immediate start available.
