Qualifications & Experience:
- Hold an active North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) School-based Sign Language Interpreter license (please submit proof of licensure).
- EIPA score of 3.5 or higher.
- Demonstrated experience using ECATS in a school setting.
- Previous experience as a school-based sign language interpreter is highly valued.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, capable of collaborating with educators, families, and students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, real-time interpretation for an elementary student during classroom activities, instruction, and peer interaction.
- Serve as a communication bridge between the student, teachers, and classmates, promoting participation and engagement.
- Support educational access and inclusion in all school settings and activities.
- Collaborate with special education staff to ensure compliance with student IEP accommodations.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.
- Uphold professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions.
This position runs from your soonest availability through late May 2027, with a consistent 37.5 hours per week schedule. Interviews will be conducted virtually on Teams.
