Key Requirements:
- Valid and current ASLPI score of 4.1 or higher
- Proficient in interpreting spoken English to American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa
- Experience providing 1:1 interpretation services, ideally in educational settings
- Ability to work collaboratively with educators, support staff, and families
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Professionalism, adaptability, and a passion for supporting students’ success
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver precise ASL interpretation for a student in various classroom settings
- Facilitate communication between students, teachers, peers, and support personnel
- Support students’ understanding of academic content, activities, and assignments
- Uphold strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines for educational interpreters
- Participate in meetings and collaborate with school team members to address student needs
