Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Sign Language Interpreter
- EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 3.5 or higher (required by IU)
- Experience in educational or school-based settings preferred
- Ability to effectively interpret 1:1 for a 5th-grade student in a Life Skills classroom
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide onsite sign language interpreting services for a 5th-grade student, ensuring access to classroom instruction and activities
- Collaborate with teaching staff and therapists to support the student’s individual learning goals
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Adapt interpreting techniques to meet the student’s changing needs
