Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Ridgeland, South Carolina

In this role, you will work a full 37.5-hour week within a collaborative educational setting, interpreting classroom instruction, activities, and school-based events. Desired Qualifications:
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English
- At least a 3.5 EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score
- Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in a K-12 school environment preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and the ability to build relationships with students and staff
- Professional certification or eligibility to work as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver accurate and culturally competent interpretation for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in various academic and extracurricular settings
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education teams, and other support staff to ensure accessibility of curriculum and school communications
- Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with district policies
- Assist in the planning and coordination of support services as needed
